About this artwork
Lighting can bring forth abstraction to reality. This nude is an example of that premise. The perception of abstraction is enhanced by blowing out some of the details with an excess of light. After using the dark to obfuscate in many of the nudes it was time to reverse course. Also the artist remains unsure of the orientation as the signature suggests.

« Thrive in the struggle, that is the key to enjoying life. That is success in the pursuit of excellence. »
Ted Washington is an award-winning American draftsman whose works have been widely exhibited in the United States. He employs stippling techniques in the creation of his realistic portraits and abstractions. What makes Washington's method so unique is that he employs differing point sizes when stippling. Over a ten year period, his compositions changed from being dominated by white to black. His striking pieces are created using pen and India ink on paper.
