About this artwork
Ashlee was first woman that asked to pose nude. She is my dearest friend to this day. I use photos for reference material. Let's just say that in the beginning when it came to photography I was clumsy at best, especially with nudes. I so desperately wanted the model to be comfortable and fortunately Ashlee was.

Ted Washington is an award-winning American draftsman whose works have been widely exhibited in the United States. He employs stippling techniques in the creation of his realistic portraits and abstractions. What makes Washington's method so unique is that he employs differing point sizes when stippling. Over a ten year period, his compositions changed from being dominated by white to black. His striking pieces are created using pen and India ink on paper.
