About this artwork
This painting started off very soft and quiet. When painting in oil one must sometimes stop for fear of getting the colors too muddy, so the next day I got carried away and added all the texture! When done it reminded me of when my siblings and I were young, laying on our backs and trying to see if a cloud looked like something familiar! Great memories! Oil on canvas, 30 x 40.

Teodora Guererra is an American artist whose paintings have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States. Describing herself a big risk-taker, she feels that her abstract compositions are a "continuous series of failures" until she works it out compositionally. Guererra creates using fluid movements that are both complex and minimal. She prefers to paint on larger canvases with acrylics.
