About this artwork
This image marks the beginning of my new series, The Forest Nobles.
I'd had the idea for this piece in my head for quite some time. My aim is to portray animals with their own distinct presence while also incorporating a subtle, humorous element.
What I found particularly fascinating was the interplay of light and material in the magpie's plumage. Depending on the viewing angle, a metallic blue emerges, developing from the dark areas.
The contrast… between soft, light areas and the deep, shimmering areas gives the animal its effect.
The element in the beak is deliberately chosen and opens up an additional narrative level for the viewer.

Her large-format works combine realistic and intuitive techniques, accentuated by metallic details, to give expression to animals as symbols of authenticity, power, and instinct.
