Teresa Lawler is a British figurative artist whose work is strongly influenced by her past career as a set designer. After completing a postgraduate course in painting at the Slade School of Fine Art, London she joined the BBC design department, leaving in 1993. She then worked both as a freelance designer and in higher education, meanwhile consistently producing her own artwork. She works in her studio just outside London.
