About this artwork
Ornament — Time investigates the paradox of Time: a tool of precise measurement that resists all linearity. Does time progress uniformly? Or does it pulse, spiral, dilate, compress?
The central figure — a woman suspended in strained anticipation — embodies the moment when temporal experience distends toward infinity. The faint silvering of her hair gestures toward continuity beyond subjective awareness. Her posture submits to the logic of the clock… face: the body as temporal apparatus.
A translucent ornamental layer arrests vision, soliciting prolonged observation while destabilizing the viewer's temporal experience.
The ornamental structure derives from geometric symbolism: two intersecting triangles (harmony) inscribed within a circle (continuity). This configuration addresses perpetual motion — phenomena beyond complete human comprehension.
Ornament — Time proposes an impossible act: arresting the fugitive to regard Time as if it were corporeal, proximate, breathing.
Tetiana Gryshchenko is a Ukrainian conceptual artist working in geometric abstraction with influences of sacred geometry and symbolic minimalism. Her practice is grounded in the belief that everything in the universe is interconnected — through form, memory, and consciousness. She constructs compositions from circles, squares, and archetypal structures, creating symbolic systems that explore identity, harmony, and cultural memory. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Florence Biennale and art fairs.
