About this artwork

I've been working with the theme of "clouds" for a long time. I seek the lightness and freedom, the blurred transitions, and the ambiguity of boundaries in these works. It's a pleasure to play with the bold, rich, and strong colors and let them find their way together.
Parallel to this, the theme of "house" has been a constant companion since the beginning of my artistic journey. This reduced form of the house to its basic shape, which everyone… can understand and translate. Both themes are interwoven in "Stilt House." On the one hand, the expanse and freedom of the clouds, and then the confinement and home provided by the house symbol.

Thea Altmann, a trained costume designer and artist, creates with acrylics, spray paints, and embroidery. She works quickly and intuitively, often bordering on abstraction. The depth of her works emerges from subconscious processes and hours of stitching, which capture the emotions and experiences of the creative process. Her art evokes feelings of liberation and growth, presenting a striving for equality and the process of detachment.
