Thea Matins is a Georgian artist based in Japan, working primarily with brush on canvas, ink with a glass dip pen, and digital tools like Procreate. Her work explores themes of time, stillness, and inner transformation through a contemporary yet meditative visual language. She creates across canvas, paper, porcelain, and digital media, often using natural minerals in her paintings.
Matins is also studying traditional Japanese arts, including sometsuke and full porcelain craftsmanship — from shaping to painting — as well as sumi-e and calligraphy, integrating Zen philosophy and ritual into her creative process.
