About this artwork
The "Hands" series was born during a bout of rheumatism. I smoked despite my doctor's warnings. A moment of weakness at a party. Just one cigarette, what could happen? The pain was unbearable. That burning sensation in my hands. Why do we humans smoke when it's proven to be harmful to the body? We need a little moment of happiness. The nicotine hit that lets us relax for a moment.
We know how much damage it causes.
