About this artwork
That feeling that you get when you dive into water, everything else disappears, the slate is wiped clean, all is absolved. Once again, the painting was started with layers of writing from her personal journals however this time, the writing was covered over to reflect this act of absolution. You can still make out some of the writing in the texture of the painting as a reminder that what was absolved leaves its mark.
