About this artwork
This oil on canvas painting is the first in the 2021 collection of my Vibrant Forest paintings. This second generation series features an even brighter array of colors along subtropical forest paths, with areas of thick impasto texture inspired by golden hour walks in the forest.
The new process used to make this series, includes first exploring each scene with watercolor on paper studies, outlined with an antique dip pen (be sure to check out… the watercolors, available soon!). This method of study before creating the oil painting purifies the scene, transforming each artwork with an imaginative quality and flowing, vivid composition.
