Native to the Horn of Africa, Grevy's zebra is certainly the most beautiful of its kind with its fine stripes, its opulent mane and its large rounded ears.
Out of a population of 4,300 individuals in 1988 in Kenya, there were only 2,000 in 2007. Estimated at 1,900 individuals in 1980 in Ethiopia, there were only 128 in 2006.
Today, the total population of Grevy's zebras on the planet is estimated at around 1000 specimens.

Thierry Bisch is a French artist who has exhibited his paintings nationally, in Spain, Singapore, Belgium, and Monaco. For the last ten years, his sole artistic statement and purpose is to sound the alarm on the collapse of wildlife, on the sixth mass extinction that is in progress. Bisch's large-format compositions are created using oils and tempera. He leaves unfished aspects where only a charcoal line is visible, symbolizing the erasure of the subject.
