About this artwork
"Into the deep" is a work made with the technique of pouring. After careful preparation of the shades in beakers, the paint is poured and distributed on the canvas according to the expected effects.
This is a delicate step because most of the effects will only appear after drying, so you have to mentally project yourself on the final result and act accordingly.
This apparently simple technique is fascinating because it allows for transparency… effects and lines of such finesse that it would be difficult to achieve them with a brush. The finish is provided by a gloss varnish.

« Sometimes, when I sleep, I dream a very precise vision of a work to paint. »
Thierry Vobmann is an experienced French painter and sculptor with international exposure. He almost exclusively composes abstract paintings, seeking to express everything we can't physically experience: sound, smell, warmth, feeling... that which is still noticeable even if invisible. Vobmann's finished works display an impressive balance of volume, texture and color.
