ERA PÒMA
An icon of an era etched in mineral time.
"Era Pòma" (The Apple, in Bigourdan Gascon) is a manifesto work. It captures one of the most powerful symbols of our digital culture to anchor it in the age-old patience of the world of stone.
Through this unique 3 kg sculpture, I wanted to create a dialogue between the rapid pace of technological revolution and the permanence of minerals. I chose to reinterpret this global icon with my preferred… material, the one that defines my identity as a craftsman and artist: terrazzo.
Each layer of color has been patiently composed to achieve these crisp, vibrant lines, transforming the raw material into a polished surface with a silky feel.
The title, derived from the local language of my region, asserts a territorial connection in the face of a global symbol. "Era Pòma" is a relic of the future, designed to transcend centuries and outlive the technologies it celebrates.

Thomas Auzon, a self-taught sculptor, works exclusively with terrazzo, a material he creates himself from cement and marble aggregates, continuing his background in masonry. His works revolve around essential geometric forms, exploring balance, tension, and stability through a sensitive and structural approach. He thus creates strikingly mineral pieces, silent and timeless, conveying a profound and soothing emotion, inviting contemplation and a slow perception of material presence.
