About this artwork
Yoko Ono 1933 is a Japanese-American multimedia artist, singer, songwriter and peace activist. Her work also encompasses performance art, which she performs in both English and Japanese, and filmmaking. She was married to English singer-songwriter John Lennon of the Beatles from 1969 until his murder in 1980.
I have had the pleasure to meet and exhibit alongside Yoko in 1982.
I then told her that I had once in the 1970s her Poem Book Titled Grapefruit… and that I knew many of the poems by hart, but that the books had got lost. A few weeks later a package arrived with a new still used n by her b poem book this time dedicated to me. Have a good life she wrote to me and I try my best. As Lennon's widow, Ono works to preserve his legacy.
She funded Strawberry Fields in Manhattan's Central Park
Funny enough later in my life I became close friend with John Lennons first wife Cynthia until her much to early death in 2015.
