About this artwork
I started painting in the early 2000's. I was studying American politics and society in the US when I got the news that my dad had committed suicide. In a stranger way my studies and this tragic episode blended together; I began painting as a therapy to forget about what was going on, while for subject matter I picked up political magazines and started re-working images from conflicts around the world.
