About this artwork
Identity is a hard fought for and hard won concept. As I have aged (fortunately) I have questioned my identity more and more. What are these wrinkles and these grey hairs testimony to? How do I strive to improve and create a better version of myself for the future; how I regret many things of the past; how complicate life is and can be. But to endure; to keep on going; keep creating against the adversity of modern life with its and discrepancies.…
With pen or paintbrush on hand I create to discover some semblance of redemption for many of the painful experiences I have been through but also as a way of recognising the fantastic, funny and glorious events of my life which have given me direction and shaped my identity.
