About this artwork
Lean on is a series of sculptures made from sandstone cubes arranged individually and in pairs.
Each cube as an element of this sculpture nestles up against the next - and none is like the other. Like our connections in life. And yet this series results in a fixed form that remains flexible. This "leaning on each other" is important in every relationship and trust and flexibility in working together are also necessary.
Tango represents the movement… of two dancers in an abstract form - their heads turned away from each other. The grace and dynamics of this dance form are enchanting, the twisting and mobility of the two columns are intended to visualize this.
Places of installation: suitable for indoors and outdoors, to cover waterproof in winter or to hibernate

Thomas Karg is a sculptor based in Austria whose works have been exhibited nationally. Through his narrative based pieces, he explores themes relating to human nature and romance, but also socially critical messages regarding wealth and poverty. In his artistic process, Karg most often employs stone or wood, placing importance on keeping the natural contours of his materials.
