About this artwork
In a permanent quest to clarify my thoughts, I have recently taken up the use of black. I had to find a clear line of work, a direction that would be the opposite of the chaos of colors that danced in my mind until then. Black combines all colors, it is intense and powerful. It is at once the color of anarchy, of piracy, therefore of life, and the color of death. I have also returned to the use of pointillism in the Aboriginal arts as a contrast…
between contemporary minimalism and primitive art. This painting was created in tribute to protesters, whistleblowers, those who did not submit to voluntary servitude. This armor represents the inner strength of these pirates of modern times.
