About this artwork
This painting is part of a series of four. It chronicles the popular march that took place in Kaohsiung in 1979 and its consequences for the dissenting leaders. The artist dwelt here on the massacre of Lin Yi-Hsiung's family during his imprisonment. The red threads, as before, recall the bloodshed and the breadcrumb as a necessary historical path to liberation. Here, they almost cover the canvas showing the horror of the slaughter.
