About this artwork
In this work, I have created an abstract figure using oily textures and warm red tones, a figure that hovers between the present and memory. The blurred contours speak of inner vulnerability and strength simultaneously. This painting brings a powerful yet calming atmosphere to any room and invites one to deeply experience emotions. It is an expression of humanity and emotionality in the realm of the ambiguous.

« When the clouds stick in the valley or when the lake is foggy in the morning and the horizon blurs, that is my imagery. »
Thomas Ritter is an experienced artist based in Germany whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, and Norway. With roots in abstract expressionism, his works place "a fog of ambiguity" over themes. Creating in many layers, Ritter's process is marked by the addition and removal of color. In the end, a secret remains, evoking feelings related to memories and associations.
