About this artwork
Archipelago is an exploration of abstract landscape through movement, texture, and emotional resonance. Working entirely at night, I allowed the stillness and darkness to heighten my focus, letting the painting emerge through intuitive gestures and layered color. The work draws on the quiet beauty of shifting forms, fragments of land, tides of light, and drifting atmospheres, all merging into a single, flowing composition.
Using richly worked acrylics,… I built the surface in multiple translucent and opaque layers, creating a sense of depth that feels both earthly and dreamlike. The dynamic interplay of greens, blues, and luminous yellow accents evokes a landscape glimpsed from above or remembered in motion, inviting the viewer to move through the piece as though navigating a chain of islands.
Archipelago is ultimately a meditation on presence, perception, and the subtle architecture of nature: not as it is seen, but as it is felt.
