'Equilibrium'
A Herculean effort for many…
The aim and motivation for this work was the opening of the new exhibition venue 'Kunstprojekt Wasserhüsli', an underground gallery with a large outdoor area in the Black Forest.
For the viewpoint ‘Schöne Aussicht’ above the village of Hägelberg, located directly on the edge of the forest, I wanted to create something monumental.
A 3.50m high and 3t heavy monolith made of Black Forest granite from the… quarry
Marzell served as my base for the fountain.
'Equilibrium' describes a state of calm resulting from the interaction of two opposing forces. In our hectic and ever-changing world, the fountain is intended to convey precisely this sense of balance.
The symbols: They provide information about the artist, but can also be interpreted as referring to a segment of humanity. However, they are meant to be deciphered and interpreted by the viewer.
"Art is an escape from reality. The only question is: In which direction?" Tilo Tscheulin is a self-taught sculptor who works primarily in stone, occasionally also in metal, wood, and as a painter. His technique combines planned and intuitive approaches, using the material as a medium to explore archaic and futuristic themes, often in large-scale figurative sculptures, heads, or spiral motifs. His works convey a deep fascination with the timeless and primal, inviting the viewer on an emotional journey between past, present, and future. Since 2012, he has run and managed the permanent public exhibition "Kunstprojekt Wasserhüsli" in 79585 Steinen.
