About this artwork
This painting is a semi abstract depiction of an Abyssinian Banana plant. The banana plant was the starting point for the artist's developing interest into plants as subject matter for his paintings. The unfinished elements and the raw canvas and graphite scrawls showing through gives this piece aa very abstract feel.

« My main concern within the work is exploring the color field. Although vivid, my works are invariably balanced, using a signature color palette of extremely bright and intense hues. »
