About this artwork
It was a long time since it had rained, and the grasses of the Heath had become parched and straw-coloured. Against the blue of the July sky and distant mauve in the city, the resulting colour combinations were hard to resist. The warm, breezy day had brought out walkers and kite flyers.

« My paintings are typically autobiographical, the ideas for which stem from moments of personal significance or intriguing conversations I have had with people. »
Tim Galton is an award-winning artist based in the United Kingdom whose works have been widely exhibited in England. Painting exclusively from life with oils, his artistic practice endeavors to capture the essence of his subject matter. In Galton's most recent compositions, there is a recurrent exploration of the relationship between the formal elements of a painting’s subject matter, untouched canvas, and mark-making that is left unresolved.
