Neo expressionism tmpx - Ma Semeuse - Original Painting
Inspiration:
The sower is a French pictorial allegory invented by Oscar Roty around 1887, presenting a young woman wearing a Phrygian cap sowing seeds in the rising sun, and which has become over time one of the symbols of the French Republic, reproduced in particular on coins and stamps.
The origin of La Semeuse dates back to an unsuccessful 1887 project for an award medal for the Ministry… of Agriculture.
In 1896, when the Minister of Finance ordered new coins, Oscar Roty reworked the allegory of 1887 in a less naturalistic style, closer to Art Nouveau and better adapted to the constraints of the industrial coinage of coins.
Work directly painted on Alu Dibond, after a rigorous sanding for a definitive grip of the paint.
