Flaco in 3 is inspired by the now famous Eurasian Eagle Owl who was set loose from the Central Park Zoo in New York City by vandals in the late winter of 2023. Flaco has since taken up residence in the Northwoods of Central Park. Monaghan is an avid birder and started his creative career as a Water Fowl carver in his childhood in Delaware, USA.

Todd Monaghan explores spontaneous intuition and the subconscious mind through 'flicking, spilling, dripping, and scraping' paint into multi-layered, textural, and immersive works. The American painter and sculptor's pieces are created through impulsive movements that welcome chance and experimentation. Monaghan does not paint using an easel, instead preferring to pin his canvases to the walls of his studio. He places them on the floor and back onto the walls, searching for new discoveries every time.
