About this artwork
Pure Exposure, created in 2017, is a continuation of my Black and White series that is both representational and abstract. It looks at the relationship of money, god, fame and demons. In this age of online fame, based on exposure, both demons and gods emerge toasting a new age of exposure, pure and simple.

Todd Monaghan explores spontaneous intuition and the subconscious mind through 'flicking, spilling, dripping, and scraping' paint into multi-layered, textural, and immersive works. The American painter and sculptor's pieces are created through impulsive movements that welcome chance and experimentation. Monaghan does not paint using an easel, instead preferring to pin his canvases to the walls of his studio. He places them on the floor and back onto the walls, searching for new discoveries every time.
