About this artwork
White Light was painted over Red Suns which I never really felt totally resolved with. This painting is all about energy, or what I like to call Kundal for Kundalini. With the help of egg shells and a bit of glitter this piece flows in and out of small specks of color and pure white light.

Todd Monaghan explores spontaneous intuition and the subconscious mind through 'flicking, spilling, dripping, and scraping' paint into multi-layered, textural, and immersive works. The American painter and sculptor's pieces are created through impulsive movements that welcome chance and experimentation. Monaghan does not paint using an easel, instead preferring to pin his canvases to the walls of his studio. He places them on the floor and back onto the walls, searching for new discoveries every time.
