About this artwork
Dimensions: 74 x 50 x 0.5cm
The 'The Leftover Landscape' series is made from recycled posters and spray paint. Tom has always been an advocate for the attitude of 'waste not want not' and finds it even more rewarding to make something visually interesting whilst reusing something normally considered rubbish. The shapes are reminiscent of the contours of islands or hills, with linear structures cutting through them, of which intentionally contrast… the more unpredictable forms.

« It has been said that my work is like nature on steroids, and that it takes advantage of every opportunity available to add colour and life to a space. »
Tom Glendenning is an artist based in Spain whose paintings have been exhibited internationally. He describes his artistic expression as being rooted in the contrasts of colour, mark-making, and texture, as well as controlled randomness. Specifically, Glendenning endeavours to create a "sense of place" within each of his compositions, often focusing on the relationship between urban and natural environments.
