This piece aims to convey the flickering light on top of shallow water by warm beaches.
Tom's practice is underpinned by contrasts of colour, texture and mark making. It questions the viewer's perspective, offering reference to both aerial and landscape compositions. His practice is constantly evolving and exploring the different qualities of both conventional media and found objects. Similarly, the inspiration for each work also varies, from street… art, urban decay and abandoned buildings to abstract expressionists such as Willem de Kooning, Gillian Ayres and Joan Mitchell.
His work celebrates the differences between man and nature, but also aims to prompt a change in the way we treat our surroundings and ultimately inspire an appreciation of opposites.

Tom Glendenning is an artist based in Spain whose paintings have been exhibited internationally. He describes his artistic expression as being rooted in the contrasts of colour, mark-making, and texture, as well as controlled randomness. Specifically, Glendenning endeavours to create a "sense of place" within each of his compositions, often focusing on the relationship between urban and natural environments.
