About this artwork
Created as a thematic continuation of a newly sold piece, this original watercolor is a brilliant validation of artistic mastery over complex textures. The artist intentionally tests their advanced watercolor control to recreate the tactile, icy surface of melting winter snow. The lower foreground is rich with granular, frosted textures where frozen patches meet patches of damp earth and dormant grass. Framed by bold, calligraphic tree silhouettes,… the composition opens up to a serene river reflecting a soft, warm amber sky and misty distant homesteads. It is a stunning, sophisticated portrayal of an early spring thaw, blending graphic precision with fluid, atmosphere-driven light art.
I paint what I miss, what I can’t quite see, or what simply slipped away—the things I yearn for and want to embrace. Because these moments are so fleeting, I can only recreate them from memory or a frozen photograph, using the fluid, delicate nature of watercolor to bring them to life. Sharing these personal stories through international exhibitions has allowed me to connect with people worldwide. Ultimately, I just want to capture a sense of quiet clarity that viewers can take with them.
