About this artwork
This painting is a collage created from several images he had been working on at that time. In an attempt to make sense of the chaos he was living through at that time he made these 5 collages , combining all the disparate elements which had surfaced in his life . It was important for him at this time to avoid an overall narrative, he chose , rather , to fragment and disrupt very real moments which held meaning for him and present them in such a…
way that a sort of subliminal message comes across. In hindsight he feels that these works accurately represent the feelings and confusion he was going through more than a representational or narrative picture could.
