About this artwork
"Tomasz Rut's images are like windows through which we can look into this reality, into the unreal landscapes without a horizon. Their action takes place on two levels. The surface action, consisting of codified records of the artist's experiences, is subjectively shaped. Behind its facade, the impassable grounds of objective truth-seeking open up."
"...Tomasz Rut's work is characterized mainly by formal and thematic diversity. The "multilayeredness"… of his images makes a unified interpretation of the works difficult. They can be read fragmentarily like an exciting book, but they can also be aesthetically enjoyed without delving into their content."

Tomasz Rut, a skilled painter and printmaker, has roots deeply seated in literature and modern science. Employing methods like recording phenomena and thoughts, his works often echo tensions between the real and imaginary worlds. His creations inject pulsating life into inexplicable fantasies, and elicit a sensation of relentlessly chasing the unattainable, unfathomable aspects of existence.
