"Art is the most elevated form of hope" - Richter
This quote and Richter's influence, not only as an artist but as a person, upon me has been deep. Once I left manual painting and migrated to the digital, I created techniques to emulate the fine art techniques and aesthetic. It took me a year to develop my own combination of assets and techniques to emulate oil on canvas, watercolour on paper, etc...
I wanted to leave an homage to Richter, and this… is the first image I made with this intent.

Tomaz Favilla is an Anglo-Brazilian digital artist with roots in music and visual arts, educated at Brighton University and the Escola Pan-americana de Arte e Design. His technique involves digitally manipulating original photographs, emulating fine art painting styles while embracing intentional image error and glitch.
