Hello Darkness is part of a three cone series. The inspiration come from a paper collage ice cream cone made by a six-year-old neighbor The collage was given to Geiger and his wife as a gift. While seeing it day after day hanging on the refrigerator, it began to sink into the artist's consciousness. Eventually Geiger realized he wanted to turn… this innocent ice cream cone into something more knotty and complicated.
