By the time the light from the stars we observe in the sky reaches us, some stars may no longer exist, we only perceive the visual spectrum, a memory...
So we travel through time, we live with images from the past. The Flashback painting was built up by scraping in the lower layers to metaphorically remove the first stars imprinted in the memory of the Axis mundi, tree of the world, born from time immemorial from the first constellations.
