About this artwork
With this work, the artist wanted to pay homage to classical art and mythology through the representation of the Head of a woman. Roman, imperial age. 1EC. Copy of a Hellenistic statue.
It is part of a large project developed in recent years, in which he uses sculptural references from different periods to generate a pictorial work based on superimposing and removing layers of paint, so that the viewer can visualize the final result as if it were… a stratigraphic sequence of an archaeological site, which simultaneously shows us the process of its creation.
In this case, the work is painted on three Super Alfa papers of 250 gr of natural beards and 76 x 112 cm each, which are joined to measure a total of 228 x 112 cm.
The work has been shown at the Museo Ciudad de Mula, within the exhibition "Faces and Lies" and is documented in the catalog published for it.
