About this artwork
With this work, the artist wanted to pay homage to classical art and mythology through the representation of a Venus.
It is part of a large project developed in recent years, in which it uses sculptural references from different periods to generate a pictorial work based on superimposing and removing layers of paint, so that the viewer can visualize the final result as if it were a stratigraphic sequence of an archaeological site, which simultaneously… shows us the process of its creation.

« I am in love with painting, I place all of my energy and feelings into what I am doing because I strongly believe that matter ends up absorbing all of it. »
Torregar is an award-winning painter and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been extensively exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Paraguay, France, Germany, etc. Creating in themed series, the thread that binds all of his compositions is the concept of the passing of time and the impulse for preservation. Torregar's diverse pieces are made through an artistic process that favors construction and deconstruction.
