About this artwork
This piece, in keeping with its series "The Space Between," explores those who have passed on before us, but remain in our hearts, memories and lives. My work often explores the thin veil that separates the space between life and death. I often like to think of those who have affected our lives as fellow "travelers." Thus, the title, "Accoompanied."

« I am constantly fascinated by the interplay and collision of images and love to highlight the contrasts and similarities of seemingly disparate themes. »
Tracy Casagrande Clancy is an American artist whose work is distinctive in its experimental layering of images. As an encaustic painter, heat is essential to Casagrande Clancy’s practice; it moves the paint and images to places which cannot be reached with a paintbrush alone. Informed by her previous career as a Pediatric Grief Counselor, Casagrande Clancy uses her art as a means to search for our interconnectedness in the wider world.
