About this artwork
By blurring the lines, the artist produces works where shapes and lines hide to better reveal themselves,
where light and color hide as much as they reveal.
"Color sometimes becomes the central theme and the observer does not distinguish at first glance
the body language and movement of the characters ".
"Free yourself from all technical and theoretical references to leave
the field free to the color and spontaneity of the gesture ".
« I like to represent the movement of the body while playing on sensitive emotional chords. »
Tropel is a French painter who hails from Rouen and has exhibited nationally as well as in Luxembourg and Belgium. His works are oriented towards suggestion and his approach is focused on the language and expression of the body. Inspired by calligraphy, he translates movement, gestures and lines through the deformation of the body, in order to extract ‘the essential’. Tropel works mainly with acrylic paints, as they challenge him to work in a quick and spontaneous manner.
