About this artwork
Inspired by the large scale colourfield paintings of Helen Frankenthaler and the work of Georgia O'Keefe, this abstract painting employs staining and flow techniques while referencing the female landscape and the intense chemistry and mysticism of the moment of conception. This painting was made when the artist was pregnant: a potently creative time.

« I draw inspiration from my travels — both inner and outer — and see my work as inner landscapes or dreamscapes. »
Trudy Montgomery is an experienced British painter who has exhibited her work nationally. She initially worked in the Silicon Valley tech world before moving to San Francisco to embrace her passion for visual art. Now living back in her home country of England, she composes abstract expressionist inner landscapes, exploring themes related to spirituality and the female experience such as the earth's energy, pregnancy and the Divine Feminine. Montgomery's paintings ultimately display calming color combinations and a soulful spirit of self.
