About this artwork
In my paintings, a mix of acrylic and colored pencil, I capture the sharp contrasts and heavy emotions of realism. I passionately explored the details and textures to create a vibrant representation that invites viewers to think beyond the everyday.
In Cairo, where I lived for a while, waste is handled differently than in the western world. Collecting, sorting and recycling waste is the livelihood of thousands of residents. The picture shows a private… collection point somewhere in the city.
This work is intended to encourage reflection on our environment and how we interact with it - a powerful reminder in any room that inspires us to consider changes in our own lives.
« The banalities of everyday life, the trivial, and the unnoticed offer inexhaustible inspiration. »
