Ujala Khan is a painter from Pakistan. She began her artistic journey as a therapeutic exercise, with rich, diverse influences such as Arthur Rimbaud’s poem 'A Season in Hell' and Carl Jung's dream symbolism. She works with the technique of automatism, in which thoughts and desires that are deep in the subconscious are prompted to the surface. This is reflected in her intricate, arresting pieces, which use a bold color palette and can be viewed as a whole and as segments at the same, the extra layers implying the pieces to be multifaceted and subjective.
