Dieses Bild ist eine kleine Hommage an den britischen Maler David Hockney. Im Gegensatz zu ihm habe ich jedoch mit starken Kontrasten und einem unergründlich tiefen Blau gearbeitet. Hier ist einer nicht bloss in einen Swimming Pool, sondern gleich ins Meer gesprungen! Hocker und Gläser erzählen von einem ruhigen Moment vor dem Sprung ins Ungewisse. Die Arbeit lädt den Betrachter ein, einen Moment lang innezuhalten, und bringt die Energie des Unbekannten…

Taking inspiration from numerous travels, as well as from everyday life, objects, photos or printed material, Ulrike Kessler's works can remain close to the original but often stray quite far. The artist tries to capture the freedom of experimentation, and aims for a dialogue with her audience.
She acquired her comprehensive professional skills at the Schule fuer Gestaltung Basel, Switzerland, the Art Students League New York, the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts Venice, Italy, and at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Kolbermoor, Germany.
