In my artwork I combine materials such as ink, wax, colored pencils and chalk to create an abstract, sometimes surreal world. The geometric shapes and bright colors come together to create a lively composition that inspires reflection. Ulrike Schmitt is an experienced artist based in Germany whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in Austria, France, and Poland. Through her diverse works, she explores themes relating to love and preservation of our habitats, the longing for freedom and inner peace, as well as the perception of the essential. Schmitt primarily creates with oils, pigments, wax, pastels, and charcoal on canvas or wood.
