Contact is not always a form of closeness. Sometimes contact creates distance. Contact becomes a way to find a form of distance that does not destroy the contact but gives a feeling of freedom inside it.
People come closer to merge and live a moment of unity, but at the same time they need to keep a safe boundary in a socially acceptable form.
Gestures are recognizable as an embrace, support, leading, intimacy, attraction, and interaction - not connecting,… but defining how deeply they enter each other’s space.
Bodies enter a field of agreement where they touch in order not to get too close.
Movement replaces decision,
form replaces choice.
In this contact no one leaves and no one arrives.
It exists as a balance between impulse and refusal.
Closeness here is not a goal as a deep experience,
but rather a structure that avoids its intensity and regulates depth and speed.
