About this artwork
In "Hungry Pop Icons," I visualize our society's insatiable hunger for symbols, represented by a surreal burger as an icon of fast consumption. The cat acts as a hunter in this field of tension, while texts like "True Love" and "Forget Him" add an emotional depth between longing and letting go. The foundation is a handcrafted analog collage that haptically combines texts and motifs in layers. I translate this template into a multi-layered painting… that combines graphic precision with the raw energy of graffiti. Through this two-stage process, hidden emotional layers become physically tangible on the canvas. The painting acts as a powerful energetic anchor, filling any space with luxury, style, and critical intensity. As a coach and artist, I define luxury here as the freedom to satisfy one's hunger for self-expression with courage and color.
Ursula Haider-Seggl: The symbiosis of precision and empathy. My art is rooted in a deep understanding of humanity. As a registered nurse, academic teacher, and educationalist, I have spent decades studying human dynamics and resilience. This expertise has informed my successful work as a trainer in personnel development and health management. In my studio in Mödling, I translate these systemic insights into visual worlds. My work combines graphic precision with passionate painting and balances between realism and abstraction. Drawing on my coaching experience, I use powerful colors and clear forms to make the relationships between people, nature, and all living beings tangible. My work creates space for reflection and renewed momentum.
