About this artwork
With Copper Muse, I wanted to create a tribute to the timeless elegance and charisma of the French icons of the 1960s. Inspired by the aura of Brigitte Bardot, I didn't paint her portrait, but rather my own interpretation of femininity, strength, and mysterious presence.
In this piece, I work with a deliberately reduced color palette, which I complement with warm copper accents. The copper-colored structures lend the composition depth and vibrancy,… creating different nuances depending on the light.
The gaze of the woman depicted was particularly important to me. Her large, expressive eyes form the emotional center of the image and invite the viewer to discover their own story. The combination of figurative representation and free, abstract elements creates a tension between reality and memory.
