About this artwork
Eniga arose from my fascination with quiet presence, elegance, and the emotional impact of reduced visual language. The starting point was a deliberately tranquil portrait that gradually transformed during the painting process. Initially, the image seemed too clean and controlled to me, so I began incorporating further layers, softer transitions, and free gestural elements. Only then did the work gain the depth and vibrancy I was seeking.
The work… deliberately moves between portraiture and abstraction, inviting the viewer to discover their own thoughts and emotions within it.
